How to Judge an Author: Your Turn

These many weeks we've enjoyed the answers children give to the question What kind of books does this author write? Now I'd like to give you a chance to guess. There's just one problem...you can cheat so easily, either by mousing over the picture, or viewing the properties, and ka-boom, there's the author's name. So try to guess before you peek...

The funnest part is the reasoning behind the guess. It usually makes no sense! I hope you don't recognize any of them, though I'm taking a chance with one. If you don't know how to cheat, I'll give you the answers on Thursday.

Now, something to look forward to: it's almost time for the Gratitude Giveaway, hosted by I am a reader, not a writer, and all-consuming books. You can sign up too - as a way to say THANK YOU to the many interesting people who stop by your blog to say HI.

The contest starts Thursday, November 17th. I will announce the winner on Monday, November 28th. The prize? I'm not telling yet! But if you're a follower via GFC (click join this sight in the sidebar), simply leave a comment starting Nov. 17th. That's it. See you then!

Gah! I am so bad at guessing, and I REALLY want to cheat. But I won't. I have no idea who any of these people are, although I'm going to guess that the first author writes non fiction books about writing. I don't know why, she just looks. . . intellectual in that way. Weird huh?

I didn't recognize anyone, so I guessed then I peeked. I got two. What's funny is when I saw the names, I knew one of them - and that's one of the ones I missed - LOL!

No guesses? Okay, I'll try. I don't recognize any of them (which probably means I fail some author-in-training test).

1 - She writes either mysteries (because she looks like she knows who dunnit) or policical commentaries.

2 - Definately picture books for kids or books on how to make chocolate chip cookies. (My reasoning - hey, look at her.)

3. Travel books. I bet there isn't a beach in the world that this guy and his dog haven't visited.

Or psychotic killer thrillers. He kinda looks like a guy that knows where the bodies are buried - if you know what I mean.

4. Romances. (Because she looks girly.)

I suspect that I may look very silly at this point. Okay. I can live with that.

#1 - Really intense eyes so I'm going psychological thriller.
#2 - Looks kind and sweet - Let's say primary chapter books.
#3 - Sitting by a black orb - definitely sci fi.
#4 - That "I know what you're thinking" look - romance
Now I'm going to peek.

Man, I wish I could participate, but I'll miss the first part.

Wonderful idea.
