Author Spotlight: Robert Liparulo

I've been reading Robert Liparulo's YA series The Dreamhouse Kings, starting with House of Dark Shadows. Comes a Horseman, a novel for adults, has been out since 2005, and since then the guy has been spitting out novels faster than a mouse on your linoleum floor - ten, according to Wiki, with two more in the works.

Get this, three of his novels for adults are going to be movies, plus the Dreamhouse Kings is going to be made into movies too. All I'm wondering is, where have I been? I've never heard of Liparulo until a couple of months ago, and neither have any of my reading friends. Have you read any of his work? If you like YA + scary + adventure = give this author a try and let me know what you think.

Great recommendation. I've never heard of him, but it sounds like he writes the kinds of books I like to read. Thanks for sharing

Yes, I've read all his books so far: four adult thrillers and six YA's in the Dreamhouse Kings series. He's an incredible writer! One of my top favorites. I didn't think I'd like the Dreamhouse books, but his style of writing is...I don't know, something about it just engages the reader (at least it does me and my friends who read him, quite a few actually). Can't wait for the next one.

Hi Michelle,
Never heard of him, but then again, I don't usually read YA novels. I think it's so cool his books are going to the big screen ;)

Wow, Michelle! I'm so glad you commented on my blog about The Station Will Come Soon Enough so I'd get over here to read this (I'm trying to catch up on my blogging). I've never heard of him either, and he sounds wonderful! I love YA literature. I think there's more great stuff written in this genre than in other "adult" ones. I'll see if I can afford this month to buy something he's written. If I do, I'll let you know what I think!

I'm going to have to check him out. there are a ton of great writers I have not heard of until thier work becomes movies. How great is it that tv adn the silver screen can bring us right back to books?
