I'm celebrating the work of Patrick Carman this month, and in the process of typing this post I'm looking after an abandoned 5 week old kitten.
*scratching at keyboard*
I first discovered Patrick's work in 2003 with his debut novel The Dark Hills Divide, a series called The Land of Elyon. We're a read-it-aloud family, and enjoyed the memorable characters and adventures.
*mini dachshund bumping my elbow while gently wrestling with kitten*
A few years later, I was delighted with his series, Skeleton Creek, a book-online video combination. It was the first of its kind, and has just the right amount of scare for my taste.

Additionally, Patrick is giving the keynote address at the ALA Conference in New Orleans at the end of this month.

I haven't heard of him, but if he has done some of the 39 clues, my daughter has. =)
Thanks for the recommendation. Best to the kitty. I'm working my way through the 39 Clues so I will be reading Patrick's work in the near future.

I was going to attend the ALA but I just couldn't get away - deadline approaching quickly -ungh ... but how cool he is giving the keynote speach - an honor!

Thanks for sharing Mr. Carman's works. So it's really nice of you to acknowledge him in your blog. I had never heard of him. By the way, kudos to you for taking care of this abandoned kitten ;) Hope you keep him or find him a loving home.
